Body Sugaring

ELECTROLYSIS EQUIPMENT
Electrolysis is the only method of permanent hair removal for men and women, approved by the Food & Drug Administration and the American Medical Association. Here are the three methods of performing electrolysis.

Thermolysis (Short Wave):
Passes high frequency current down the needle producing heat which destroys the hair root. This process takes only seconds per hair. This is the most common method used.

Blend:
Combines galvanic and thermolysis to permanently remove hair. The heat produced by thermolysis makes the procedure more effective than galvanic electrolysis alone.

Galvanic:
Uses single or multiple needles, and can take up to a minute or more for each hair.

At the Electrolysis Center we use computerized epilator machines (State of the Art – Apilus) that consist of thermolysis and blend methods. We also use Ballet® sterile, disposable, electrolysis needles - the best probes on the market - and our equipment is maintained properly.

ELECTROLYSIS TREATMENTS
The causes of unwanted hair are very diverse; heredity, illness, medications, stress, puberty, pregnancy, or menopause.

Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal solution. This 100 year old method of hair removal has withstood the test of time! In fact, you will wonder why you waited so long to start treatments.

What does it feel like?
If any, the discomfort is quite variable depending on the area to be treated. You may hardly notice the insertion of the probe, but the sensation caused by the current has been variously described as a "tingling" or a "slight sting" or simply no pain at all.

While many find the treatment within their tolerance, a topical anesthetic could be used. If this is a concern, discuss this with your Electrologist.

What to Expect?
Side effects are usually minimal, but may include some redness and swelling. Most clients return to their normal routine immediately. Your after- treatment care should be carefully followed.

Hair Cycles
Hair grows in cycles and is best eliminated during its growth cycle. Subsequent treatments of the unwanted hair are necessary as recommended by your electrologist.

Anagen-The hair’s growth phase. It is the most effective treatment time to disable the hair follicle.

Catagen-This is the transition phase.

Telogen-The resting phase is where the hair is shed in preparation for the development of the new hair.

How long does Electrolysis take to achieve permancy?
A treatment program must be tailored to meet each individual patient's needs. Certain factors determine the number and length of treatments. They are: Number of hairs in the area, Sensitivity of the skin, Area to be treated, Previous methods of hair removal--tweezing, waxing or depilatories.

The closer you adhere to your treatment schedule, the more effective your treatment program will be in helping you free yourself of superfluous (unwanted) hair forever and post treatment skin conditions.

Treatments will be more frequent in the beginning and less frequent later on. Eventually the hair ceases.

WHAT DOES ELECTROLYSIS COST?
Considering the intense physical effort required of a trained electrologist, the fees charged are very reasonable. When compared with other health and beauty services and the cost of temporary hair removal methods, it is very affordable.

Treatments prices on 15 minute incriments and packages starting at 10 hours are available at a discounted rate per hour.

ALL PAYMENT METHODS ARE ACCEPTED.

LEARN ABOUT ELECTROLOGY
Some lasers, not all, are cleared by the FDA to promote permanent hair REDUCTION, but NEVER permanent hair removal. If they do so, they are doing fraudulent advertising.

Electrolysis is SAFE for ALL SKIN TYPES. No matter if your skin is very white and sensitive or if you have very dark skin, electrolysis can be performed in any skin type and area.

Electrolysis WORKS on ALL HAIR TYPES. No matter if you have white, black, blonde, red or dark hair, this treatment will EFFECTIVELY and PERMANENTLY remove your unwanted hair.

Electrolysis can be performed on any area of the body, including very near the eye, like the cheekbone and eyebrow where treatments can be perfectly designed to match the shape of the face.

Electrolysis can successfully treat distorted hair, which may be a hair-trait predominant in African, and African-American ethnicities.

Electrolysis machines have multiple programs for each body part. That means that the machine power can be adjusted, and is not the same if you treat an eyebrow versus if you treat a lip area or a chin.

With Laser Treatments you need to avoid the sunlight during your treatments, but with Electrolysis your hair removal treatments can be performed during any time of the year and do not need to flucuate around your vacation or summer schedule.

Electrolysis will NEVER damage your skin to a nerve level.

Electrolysis treatments are not painful with the APILUS and are so comfortable that you can even sleep while you are having your treatments. Our office does sell pain topicals if you are more sensitive.

INTRODUCING A NEW SERVICE.
Although waxing is still a highly used hair removal method, a more holostic method called Body Sugaring is showing better results in total hair removal and skin health.

BODY SUGARING
"SUGARING" is the application of a natural, sugar-based paste (sugar, lemon, water and other natural ingredients cooked to the consistency of soft taffy) that is applied to the skin and then subsequently removed carrying with it unwanted hair. Unlike wax, which needs to be heated to a high temperature, the sugar paste is applied to the skin at body temperature therefore eliminating the risk of burning. It will also remove dead skin cells leaving the skin soft, silky and healthy.

One of the best features is that it is water soluable...meaning if the product accidentally gets anywhere it shouldn't, it simply washes away with water! We all know that is not the case with wax.

There is less chance of redness, rashes, bumps, breakouts and ingrown hairs. I use top-of-the-line skin cleansers, tonics and lotions before and after treatment to ensure these superior results. Virtually everyone returns for periodic maintenance visits.
